1966

ITALFORM S.N.C. was founded by Ruggero Meroni in 1966 initially as a factory of living rooms. The business was located in the garage of Meroni of 30 square meters.

At the time, the initial resources were limited but there was great optimism and desire to do.

70’s

At that time, Ruggero not found reliable partners , for this reason he decided to move the production on armchairs with fiberglass shells, a sector that allowed ITALFORM to be quite successful.

Sales began all over Europe, even in Brazil, where it was decided to sell the manufacturing license later. As a result, the company began to expand and moved its production to a shed of almost 1000 square meters.

The change was radical and total: there was a change of headquarters, equipment and personnel. Moreover, among the many novelties, in that period became customers among the most established companies in the furniture industry such as Arflex, Cassina, B&B Italia, Kartell, Girgi.

The processing was artisanal, but the goal was to adopt a more industrial approach, which could allow to enter other market sectors.

80’s

In these years ITALFORM was always looking for more space in the industrial world and this could only happen with the continuous renewal of the production equipment and a particular versatility in the creation of products. In fact, with the help of a supplier, a technology called R.I.M. was developed with which it was possible to print diaphragms for large switches with which Sace equipped the entire gas pipeline that brought gas-methane from Russia to Italy. This supply was the longest in the history of ITALFORM that lasted, in fact, for 25 years. Meanwhile in the company Pierpaolo, son of Ruggero, took his first steps.

In these years it could certainly be said that ITALFORM had achieved considerable technical experience in various fields and began to be increasingly known. As a result, his reputation as a reliable company grew, and in 1985 he was approached by I.B.M. who was designing a new computer for the AS400.

90’s

It thus entered the nineties with new partnerships and a multifaceted activity aimed at multiple sectors: from armchairs to motorcycles, from electrical engineering to electronics and chemistry.

One collaboration worth mentioning was with Knoll International. Italform was able to print parts that they imported from the United States, the press was brought to maximum power and were able to meet the demand of this great customer.
Another notable collaboration was with Snia Engineering (FIAT Group).

Thanks to the collaboration, with valid suppliers, Itaform was able to put together a team that turned to precision mechanical workshops and chemical industries with research laboratories that formulated the resistant kinetic resin suitable for printing the required pieces.

Years 2000s

In the 2000s there was a very important change of direction, in terms of production, that will mark the future of Italform. As a result of the planned lack of development for the SMC, efforts were made to process other materials. As a result, it was decided to work with more valuable composite materials, such as glass and carbon, and also acquired the machinery needed to process them, such as the autoclave.

Years 2010s

During this period, due to the different needs of the market, the company decided to reinvent itself. The President and his son saw potential in a company that produced components for radiological equipment, General Medical Merate S.p.A.

They entered into a commercial technical agreement with this company and with, again, new equipment ITALFORM began to build panels and radiological beds in carbon fiber.

From here on it will be Pierpaolo who will run the business at full capacity while Father Ruggero will take care of the financial aspects.
